Professional Development Opportunity
Inspiring Artists Programme – engaged music making with children and young people
With funding from the City of Edinburgh Council, this is an opportunity for six musical artists to be part of a peer-learning project that focuses on developing new skills that will help them facilitate, plan and deliver music for young people.
We are looking for exceptional emerging songwriters or music makers based in Scotland, who can envision themselves sharing their music and creating work with and for children. This will be a great opportunity to develop new collaborative skills over 2 peer-to-peer learning days followed by a day delivering an inclusive creative music engagement project.
We are particularly interested in hearing from applicants from underrepresented backgrounds / voices.
£700 bursary available per artist, plus travel expenses.
Closing date: 10am on 12th March.
Part-time voluntary positions. Recruiting year-round.
Junior Choir chaperones
We are seeking volunteer chaperones to join our team looking after the children who participate in our Junior Choir’s weekly rehearsals at Edinburgh’s Usher Hall. Chaperones look after the children’s safety around the building and assist our artistic team to support children who benefit from a little extra help during rehearsals. The role is a non-musical one as rehearsals are led by our choir leaders. There is no need for applicants to have experience of singing or music-making, but they should be able to demonstrate enthusiasm and encouragement to the children, regardless of their own or the child’s singing abilities.
