One of the most important ways you can help to secure the future of Love Music is by leaving a gift in your Will.
How would a gift help Love Music?
Our vision is “life enhancing music for everyone”.
In practice, this means providing music making opportunities that
- are truly inclusive and accessible
- have no barriers to engagement
- people from different communities and groups know are available to them
- people with different skills and abilities are properly supported to take part in
Over the next 10 years we aim to see a systematic change in the way our children are educated, with every child having equity of access to regular music making and singing in their classrooms to improve their wellbeing, confidence, aspirations and learning capacity. We aim to provide long-term and sustainable support and infrastructure for a community of freelance community singing leaders, which will in turn impact on the lives of hundreds of thousands of community singers. And of course, we want our community and junior choirs to flourish, providing people from all walks of life with opportunities to learn about music, sing together, have life-changing musical experiences, and support their wellbeing.
Why are you asking for gifts in Wills?
Leaving a gift in a Will, especially as a percentage of an estate, is an easy way for people to be able to support a charity as part of their legacy, especially for those who don’t have disposable income to donate during their lifetimes.
After you have taken care of family and friends, we ask you to consider leaving us a gift in your Will to help us provide a lasting legacy of inclusive, accessible and community-focused music participation experiences for as wide a range of people as possible.
How much do I need to leave in my Will?
A gift in your Will can be as little or as much as you like. Some people chose to leave a percentage of their estate to their favourite charities, and even 1% could make a lasting difference to future generations of music makers.
What do I need to do?
All you need to do to leave us a gift in your Will is to let your Will writer or solicitor know the following information:
- Our address: Love Music Productions Ltd, 65/8 Warrender Park Road, Edinburgh EH9 1ES
- Charity number: SC037370
- Contact details: Ruth Davie, Managing Director, ruth@lovemusic.org.uk, 07806604044
- And of course, the amount you wish to leave, as a £ figure or as a % percentage of your estate, whatever best suits your circumstances.
If you’d like to have a conversation with us about leaving a gift in your Will, or have any questions, please contact Ruth Davie, Managing Director, on ruth@lovemusic.org.uk or 07806604044.
Inheritance tax savings on your gift
This is a complicated tax and you must take professional advice, but currently (2024) your estate might save – for example – £4,000 tax if you leave us a gift valued at £10,000.
