Kiltwalkers from 2020 and 2021
We’re excited to be taking part in the Edinburgh Kiltwalk on Sun 18th Sept 2022! Will you join us?
This is our third year of Kiltwalking to raise funds for Love Music. Those who have taken part before have enjoyed the camaraderie as well as the satisfaction of achieving their chosen distance challenge! It’s a lovely thing to be a part of, and you’ll be alongside many others who are passionate about supporting their chosen charities.
Every Kiltwalker will be entered into a prize draw to win a brand new car, courtesy of Arnold Clark.Every penny that you raise will be topped up by a HUGE 50% * thanks to the generosity of Sir Tom Hunter and The Hunter Foundation. That means if you raise £100 for us, we’ll receive £150. There’s no minimum amount you have to raise – as always with Love Music, it’s the taking part that counts!
We’ve set an ambitious fundraising target of £10,000. This money will provide much needed unrestricted funding – it’s much harder for us to raise money to support our charity’s core costs and ongoing projects such as our inclusive and accessible community choir than it is for some of our other activities, so this event is invaluable to our stability as an organisation. Love Music aims to help improve our participants’ wellbeing, confidence and musical skills through working with exceptional musicians and performing a truly diverse range of music, all in a relaxed and fun environment. Our projects are suitable for people of all abilities and levels of experience who want to make great music in a welcoming and community-focussed space.
The more people who sign up to walk with us, the better chance we have of making our target. So please join our team today!
* The fundraising top up is 50% of the funds raised by any individual participant subject to a maximum of £5,000 per walker or donor; this is a cumulative limit per participant for all Kiltwalk events in 2022.
How to take part
There are three walking distances to choose from: Mighty Stride (24 miles – ages 13+), Big Stroll (14.6 miles ages 10+) and Wee Wander (approx. 4 miles ages 5+). Wheelchair users and those with pushchairs are recommended to join the Wee Wander route.
Event registration costs £31.69 for Mighty Stride or Big Stroll, and £12.80 for Wee Wander (over 16s) or £6.50 (under 16s). The registration fees go to Kiltwalk to cover the event costs, but any money raised by you after that goes to Love Music (with a 50% top up by The Hunter Foundation).
If you’d like to take part but can’t afford the cost, please get in touch and we’ll be happy to provide you with a free voucher code to use at registration: hello@lovemusic.org.uk.
When you register, choose “Love Music” from the charity list and join our team “Love Music” so our supporters can see our combined fundraising progress. Ignore the “Taking part with your company?” field. See the bottom of this page for a list of team members so far and the distances they have signed up for.
A personal fundraising page will be automatically created for you. Your confirmation email will have a link to update the info on your page. Your fundraising will be much more effective if you add your own photo and a short personal story about why you are getting involved. If you’d like a little inspiration, please view some profiles of other Kiltwalkers.
Once you’ve personalised your page, you’ll be ready to share your fundraising page link with your friends, family, colleagues and anyone else who might be able to support your valiant efforts!
