Archie graduated in Law from the University of Glasgow in 1985. Following a period in private practice he embarked on a career in the Public Sector and has, for a number of years, been a local authority Head of Legal and Democratic Services.
From a young age, Archie has had a huge interest in music. Brought up in a family where bagpipes were played by both his grandfather and mother, Archie was tutored in the pipes by his grandfather from the age of four. He has been a member of a number of pipe bands and has enjoyed success in national competitions. The bagpipes, while always his favourite, have been joined by a number of other instruments over the years, including bodhran, mandolin and tin whistle.
Archie has also enjoyed performing and recording with a number of folk and rock bands, and, while not gigging as much these days, he still enjoys writing songs and tunes.
He believes in being open to all kinds of music and is keen for everyone to get out there and get involved – let’s all Love Music!
