Glasgow-based music leader Clare was delighted to join the Love Music creative team as Junior Choir Co-Leader in summer 2024.
Having graduated from the University of Glasgow BMus(Hons) and studied on the Music PGDE at the University of Strathclyde, Clare started her own teaching practice for voice and piano, working both for music schools and providing private tuition from her home studio. Clare also works in local primary schools providing music lessons in classrooms and running school choirs.
Currently, Clare works for Stagecoach Performing Arts East Kilbride (Singing teacher and Acting Principal) with children aged 4 – 16, arranging music and programming concerts as well as musically directing productions including ‘Little Shop Of Horrors’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’, ‘Annie’, ‘Beauty and the Beast’, ‘Matilda’, and ‘Bugsy Malone’.
As a vocalist, Clare performs within local churches and at wedding receptions across the Central Belt. She has previously worked as a backing singer for performers such as Abbamania, and Steve Harley, and has recently recorded and filmed as a chorister for Netflix.
Clare is studying Psychology in the Arts (Music) at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and is currently developing a research project exploring the wellbeing of LGBTQ+ vocalists in Scotland.
When Clare isn’t singing or studying, she loves to crochet and sew for her small-crafts business!
