Hannah grew up in Shetland and was involved with organising community events from a young age. She gained a first class honours degree in classical music at Edinburgh Napier University in 2010. During her time at university she volunteered at 3 consecutive Cheltenham Music Festivals, worked as an usher and deputy Duty Manager at The Queen’s Hall, and covered shifts as a relief childcare assistant with North Edinburgh Childcare.
After graduation she worked for almost 4 years as Concerts Administrator at Music in Hospitals & Care Scotland. A stint as a freelancer followed, with longer periods of working for The Cumnock Tryst, Makin Pianos and Edinburgh Yarn Festival. Freelance life allowed Hannah time to volunteer for Edinburgh International Children’s Festival (formerly Imaginate) on several occasions and it remains one of her favourite festivals, regardless of genre or intended audience demographic! Hannah worked as Social Media & Content Officer for Stitchmastery between 2017 & 2026.
Hannah first worked for Love Music in 2010, acting as Banchory Concerts Manager on the Love Music Festival tour. She joined Love Music Community Choir in the first term as a volunteering member, and progressed to working as a paid team member, looking after many aspects of the day-to-day running of Love Music Community Choir and Junior Choir, and assisting on other Love Music projects when required.
Hannah moved back to Shetland in 2024 but continues to work remotely for Love Music as Choirs Administrator, looking after memberships, general admin and hosting online choir rehearsals. She also works for Nielanell, a contemporary knitwear boutique, where she gets to combine her love of yarn and spreadsheets!
When she’s not working, Hannah enjoys baking, knitting, crochet, reading, and being near the sea. She has been learning the button box accordion since 2021.
